Happy Monday Bakers!
In honour of St George’s Day earlier this week, Kate & Will’s anniversary, us STILL missing the ‘lympics and Jubilee, and frankly not really needing much of an excuse to get patriotic, we thought we’d do a British (or wherever you hail from) week for Sunday Baking Club. As a wise, albeit fictious, Prime Minister once said “We may be a small country, but we’re a great one, too. The country of Shakespeare, Churchill, the Beatles, Sean Connery, Harry Potter. David Beckham’s right foot. David Beckham’s left foot, come to that” so we were thrilled to see you bust out the Union Jacks and get creative about what Britain means to you. Thank you so much for supporting the new SBC format too – with one of us away and another dealing with a new pup (hello Teddy!) it was well timed! Anyway, here are your best bits!

Unfortunately @theJoJarman and @Dombelina were far too busy to bake *sad face* but at least we got a hit of good old fashion baking porn thanks to you lot and we can’t really complain after a fabulous girly weekend and a puppy shaped arrival. We’ve had loads of postive feedback about the new strict rules too so thank you for sticking with us – hopefully it will inspire more people to get involved with our themes each week! Come on, you know you want to!
If you are baking for our theme, please use #SBCTheme, if not, we still want everyone to be able to find you easily so please use #SundayBakingClub and obviously ping us on @SundayBakeClub as we love it too! We always love hearing you complimenting one another, giving us ideas for themes, sending helpful hints and recipes and getting involved – that’s what it’s all about folks.
So you oldies know the drill already, but for all the newbies (hello!) now it’s time for you to tell us who your Golden Spoon Winner is. This genuinely makes someone’s day, we love it too and it’s dead easy to do. Either DM us on Twitter, send us a Facebook message (‘like’ The Sunday Baking Club) or email us on SundayBakingClub@gmail.com
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GET VOTING! We will announce the winner and Sunday’s theme tomorrow!

I’d vote for whichever Prime Minister came up with that quote! I’ve DMed my vote for the bake on Twitter. I hope you are both resting after your busy puppy/hen weekends.
